City Center Arnhem

Alongside Park Sonsbeek, Arnhem’s city centre forms a second key setting for Sonsbeek 2026. By presenting artworks in public space and in collaboration with cultural partners, the exhibition connects the city’s historic centre with everyday urban life. Visitors are invited to experience Arnhem from new perspectives and encounter contemporary art in unexpected places. In the city centre, works by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Loesje, and Larry Achiampong are on view. Together, these presentations demonstrate how Sonsbeek extends beyond the park, embracing the city itself as an exhibition space where art and the urban fabric become intertwined. In doing so, Sonsbeek continues its longstanding tradition of exploring the relationship between art, public space, and society.
