Inleiding
The city’s museum for modern and contemporary art, fashion, and jewelry is located on the Rhine and surrounded by a freely accessible sculpture garden that includes works from previous Sonsbeek editions. Its program reflects on society, and is complemented by one of the most significant collections of contemporary art by women artists in the Netherlands. Further, its exhibitions respond to contemporary questions while attending to local context. For this edition, its bright koepel (dome) is home to sculptures by Sonsbeek 2026 artist Esma Yiğitoğlu. Until Sunday 20 September, visitors can also see the Bakudengar show, which features paintings and installations by another of this edition’s participants, Ipeh Nur, outside her presentation as part of Sonsbeek at Omstand.
