Coming Up: Workshop Miniatures Sonsbeek ’71 and Sonsbeek ’93 at POST

We are celebrating the 75th anniversary of Sonsbeek by creating a collection of miniatures of artworks that have been exhibited in the twelve editions of Sonsbeek or can still be seen in Arnhem. This workshop focuses on the 1971 and 1993 editions. Both were experimental, groundbreaking exhibitions, in which most artists created a work of art for a specific location. In the case of Sonsbeek ’71: Sonsbeek buiten de perken (Sonsbeek beyond the pale), the artworks were even spread across 10 provinces throughout the Netherlands. Sonsbeek ’93 focused on the process of creation, sometimes involving the residents of Arnhem, and the artworks were presented at various locations throughout the city. The Sonsbeek team is happy to tell you more about its rich history, while participants can recreate an artwork from one of these editions, guided by artists Liam Siepel and Ajna Lorincz.
