nasa4nasa is a dance collective co-founded by dancers Noura Seif Hassanein and Salma AbdelSalam. Instagram was initially their main home, as the collective treats image-making and online presence as an ongoing choreographic practice, collapsing distinctions between performance, documentation, and circulation. Their work moves fluidly between stage and screen, intimacy and spectacle, foregrounding friendship, repetition, endurance, and the politics of visibility in (digital) space. nasa4nasa explores how bodies are shaped, mediated, and amplified through platforms, crafting a language that is playful and rigorous. This performance, first presented in 2024, unfolds at sunset on opening night and takes the form of an improvisational score in which two bodies attempt to compose a listening field of sensitive proximity. Through slow, taut movements, they negotiate distance and tenderness, appearing and disappearing in relation to one another. Each iteration becomes a renewed attempt at a promise—to each other, the audience, the space— while acknowledging that a promise carries the possibility of failure. The insistence is on being with one another and striving for a synchronicity that continually breaks, to move alone yet generate a shared field. This realization of the work is an ode to the park, and to the pledge to one another and the environments we inhabit and care for. As a “third choreographer” the landscape shapes aesthetic and conceptual concerns where the park is a space for listening and watching, in which weather and noise fold into the work. nasa4nasa invites reflection on space as vulnerable, requiring collective effort that is relational and deeply felt.
